The Green International Festival Kuching 2009 was held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching on 8 and 9 August. The aim of this community project was to promote awareness and interest in a greener world, raise funds for schools to plant trees and plants, contribute to the Green Ribbon Association Kuching and to facilitate as a platform for green enthusiasts to share, engage, and develop a better world.
The event was organised by Techno Expo with the collaboration of Sarawak Energy Berhad, Natural Resources & Environment Board, Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO), Jabatan Hutan Sarawak, Jabatan Alam Sekitar, Jabatan Penerangan, Jabatan Pertanian Sarawak, Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara, Timberland Medical Centre, SMK Kota Samarahan, CMS Property Development Sdn Bhd, Peter Wee (Anna Photo), Addy Siong, Eastern Times News Sdn Bhd, Techno-Graphic, Tzu-Chi Foundation and Sanjung Etika Sdn Bhd.
Besides the exhibition proper, other activities held during the two-day event include a musical concert by our local bands, orchestra and ballet performances, card design and green poster competitions.
